Lughnasadh is the time of year where we see the power of the sun soften as the Stag King who was wounded at Litha will be sacrificed to allow his body to nourish the land in preparation for the coming winter.
At this time of year, our Lady lays down her Crescent Crown to adorn Herself in the veils of the Raven Queen. The Wolf’s power will grow as the nights lengthen. As this happens, we shall gather as a community to farewell our Stag King. We will honour nourishment, plenty, hard labour and surrender.
While we spend time with family and community, we will feast, enjoy the sandy beach, laugh and build our funeral barque for the King Stag. Near sunset, we will lovingly send him off into the edge of the sunless sea to be with the shadow.
We will be meeting at Don Mcsween Park, at the southern end of Marine Parade, Miami. We will be heading straight to the sand to feast, so consider bringing foods that are easy to eat without getting too sandy.
Keep an eye on the event page to be kept updated on where we are setting up for the afternoon.
