WILDWOOD TRADITION

- may it flourish -

We acknowledge the Yuggera, Jagera, and Turrbal People as the true and traditional owners/custodians of the Land within which the Wildwood Tradition emerged. With the deepest respect we acknowledge their Elders past, present, and emerging. We acknowledge the sacred place of Mount Coot-tha - ku-ta - Place of Honey within which the Coven of the Wildwood was birthed.

Witches of the Wildwood aspire to deeply acknowledge and work to be in solidarity with First Nations societies, peoples, and ways wherever we are and all around Earth. We live and work within the traditional and unceded territories and lands of manifold Sovereign Peoples. Among our Covenant are First Nations Sovereign Peoples.

We acknowledge the massacres and genocide that have happened and still happen. We acknowledge the impacts of colonisation, imperialism, invasion, and occupation on Country, Sacred Land, and Sovereign Peoples. We acknowledge and honour the power, determination, science, art, ceremony, song, government, kinship, and activism of First Nations elders and communities. We acknowledge and celebrate the strength, survival, and thriving of First Nations Peoples and their/our culture and ways.

The Wildwood is an ecstatic, emergent house of witchcraft. This tradition was midwived on the 30th of April 2006, by four queer witches. Since its birth, Wildwood has grown across several countries and continues to grow. Feel welcome to read up on our history in the ‘About’ section.

Our manifesto is a fluid, living document giving insight into core Wildwood values. If you have questions or want to learn more about the tradition, it is recommended to read that first.

Sit with it, and allow it to digest. Meditate with it, and call out to the spirits. What happens? How do different things sit with you/in you?

Many Wildwood rituals happen across the year, but only some will be publicly available. Any upcoming public Wildwood rituals will be posted on the Rituals & Events page.

Many Wildwood witches are amazing creators and magic-weavers. Some offer their services to the public, whether that be spell-working, readings, mentorship, or art, which you can find listed on the Offerings page.

…have questions?

We encourage you to read through this website, read the text available, watch the interviews, listen to the podcasts, and check out the resource lists.

If you seek a practitioner for magical assistance or advice, mentorship, teaching, readings, or because you need the services of a witch, our Offerings page promotes Wildwood witches who are willing and able to offer their skills to the public.

If you have questions or inquiries about the Wildwood, the tradition, or its house of spirits, please reach out to a WildWood Witch you know.

If you don't know a Wildwood Witch, and the mysteries are compelling you to reach out across the internet and speak to absolute strangers, there is the option to send us an email using the Contact button below. Some of us might be happy to have a chat and answer those questions, so please be patient when waiting for a response.

We must be clear: this is a private tradition, not a public service or commodity.

By land, by sky, by sea…
